Daily Devotionals
I get asked frequently what bible I use and where I purchased it. I linked the exact one that I have below. I read several daily devotionals. The three I wanted to mention is “Jesus Calling”, “The Confident Woman”, and “My time with God”.
If I only have time to read one devotional, my go-to is always “My Time with God” by Joyce Meyer. I always feel that specific devotional is speaking to me on a spiritual level.
I like to take time in the morning to sit with God’s word, pray, and thank him for his blessings and favor. I thank him in advance for delivering to me the desires of my heart as if they already belong to me. I let my prayers manifest in my life this way. I’ve done so since I was a little girl.
At times I even write my prayers out to God thanking him for all the things I want, all the things I have, and all the things I no longer have. I thank him for everything, because I trust his perfect timing for my life. I am confident that the things that have hurt me and that I cant understand were meant for my good in the end. How do I know this? Because that is how it happened and God makes no mistakes.
At the end of my marriage I prayed to God everyday for His will to be done, not mine. He took me away from my husband. A piece of me died from the pain. Through all the pain that came with this chapter of my life, I have always had peace that it was part of my journey. I was meant to go through the pain. Through my story, I will be able to help others and have more empathy and understanding for people while they are hurting. Please remember God loves you. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.
2. Crazy
My son and his friend created a group called BlueJuly. They released their first single this week. It is available on all major platforms. The song has a catchy hook and I find myself singing it in my head all throughout the day. I added a snippet below to share. Give it a listen. It has been heavy in my rotation this week. Proud mama!
3. Morning Walks
During quarantine I have had to create a “new normal”. Instead of taking a workout class first thing in the morning, or heading out to the gym, I began working out in my garage and taking walks in the morning. I have learned to really enjoy being outside in the morning to watch the sunrise and hear the birds singing. Once life gets back to normal I know these walks will be few and far in between as I settle back in to my usual routine. I remind myself to take advantage of these peaceful mornings and soak in the fresh air ; enjoy the little things.
4. Polaroid Zip
As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I write daily,I keep a journal, and I love planners. I like to take time on Sundays to plan out my week in my calendar. I love using the Polaroid Zip printer because they print out as stickers and I can print out pictures straight from my phone! Once I print out these photo stickers, I love to add them to my journal or calendar. It really adds that personal touch to my planning and journaling. I highly reommend you get one if you love journaling or planning as much as I do!
