My top 5 face masks and how you should you use them
Who doesn’t love a good face mask? Any good skin care routine will have at least a few masks in their arsenal. With so many masks on the market, it can be a daunting task finding what works best for your skin type. Each persons skin type is unique and has different needs to look and feel its’ best. I have normal to combination skin depending on stress, weather, and diet. Below are the face masks I use, how I apply them, when I apply them and why.
Summer Fridays
Jet Lag Mask
The Jet Lag Mask is good for all skin types. It’s a hydrating mask that can be used in mulitple ways. You can leave it on for ten minutes in the morning to prep your skin for makeup, however, I like to use it as a sleep mask. I put a thick layer on my face before I go to sleep and wake up to moisturized and soft skin! I use this mask daily.
Glamglow
Super mud clearning treatment
This is a charcoal mud mask that is pore refining, mattifying and clarifying. I like to apply this with a face mask brush. I let the mask sit for twenty minutes and as it dries, I can see it extracting impurities from my face. It contains six acids that help to clear up your skin along with charcoal that helps reduce the size of your pores. This mask can be used up to three times a week. I personally like to use it once a week or if it’s that time of the month and my skin is more acne prone. I will say that there is just something about a mud mask, that makes you want to throw some cucumbers on your eyes and drink fruit infused water!
Tatcha
luminous deep hydration lifting mask
If I have an event to go to, I like to take extra time to prep my skin before putting on my makeup. I use the Tatcha Luminous Deep Hydration Lifting sheet mask. This sheet mask really feeds your skin anti aging superfoods to help restore a youthful radiant look. It is very nourishing and leaves your skin with a dewy glow. This is my go-to when my skin needs a quick fix!
Boscia
Luminizing black mask
This is a peel off mask that is full of antioxidants that leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean while minimizing pores. I like to apply a thick layer and let it sit on my face for about forty minutes. This way it really drys on my skin and will peel off easier. It is great at removing dead skin cells. I apply this mask once or twice a month as needed.
Peter Thomas Roth
Cucumber Detox Hydra-Gel Eye Patches
On morings that I didn’t sleep well the night before and wake up with bags under my eyes, this is my saving grace. These eye patches help to de-puff your skins appearance. They are very cooling to the skin on their own, but you can also keep them stored in your refrigerator so that they are extra cool when you apply them. I leave them on as I put on my eye makeup and just let them work their magic. I use these as needed.
