Spend a Monday with me!

I enjoy seeing how people spend their days. I like seeing how others live and how they fit in all that they do.  So I thought I would share mine.  Today I’m sharing what a typical Monday in my life looks like.

4:00 am:

My alarm goes off. I use the app Alarmy which requires me to do a puzzle before the alarm will turn off. This helps prevent me from snoozing. However, I am notorious for just turning my phone off completely to get the alarm to stop blaring which defeats the purpose! I know immediately if I am going to run the day or will the day run me based off how I wake up to my alarm each morning.

4:15 am:

After I have had a sufficient amount of time to open my eyes and wake up I take my dog, Rory outside. Then it’s off to make myself all of the coffee that I can. I enjoy my coffee and put on my gym clothes so that I can be out the door by 4:40.

5:00 am:

I arrive at the studio to take a Wicked Core class. Wicked Core is based on the lagree fitness method. It’s a low impact, high intensity 45 min workout. Think pilates on steroids! Its hard but I love it oh so much!

6:15 am:

I return back home after class and start on my morning pages and daily devotionals. You can read about morning pages here and which daily devotionals and bible I read here.

6:45 am:

On Mondays I go for a walk with my oldest son Anthony around this beautiful lake that is in our neighborhood. Some days my mom joins us as well. I don’t consider this walk as a form of “exercise” for me. I go on these walks for the talks I get to have with my son and my mom. Our days are pretty busy and this gives us uninterrupted bonding time.

8:00 am:

I meet my friend, Jay at the gym to weight lift. Mondays we train legs. Due to Covid-19 we are only allowed to be at the gym for one hour and we definitely use every minute that we can!

9:30 am:

I Eat a quick breakfast and take a shower. While I am in the shower, I either listen to an audio book or podcast. I like to utilize my shower time to learn. Right now I am listening to “The Upside of Stress” by Kelly McGonigal.

9:50 am:

Review whichever blog post I have prepared to go live. I post every Monday and Friday, and try to have the post live by 10:00. Once I have posted the blog I prep a quick Instagram post and story announcing there is a new post on the blog and email my subscribers letting them know as well.

10:00 am:

Get ready for work. I like to multitask during this time and listen to a podcast/audio book or watch a learning video/sermon on my ipad as I get ready. I have also started using this time to film “get ready with me videos”.

11:30 am:

I arrive to the office. I batch my days into different focus areas to help me be more intentional with my time and be proactive rather than reactive. My Mondays are operations and growth focused. I have a morning start up routine that I do when I get to the office. I review my calendar for upcoming meetings throughout the week, check my emails, voicemails and talk to our staff as they need me. I then do a thought download. I write down everything I have to do down on paper and then put it into my calendar. This allows me to get all of the to do items both work related and personal written down so I can have the brain energy back, to be able to think clearer and be more present.

1:00 pm:

I eat my lunch; 95% of the time I eat it at my desk. I don’t like going out to lunch, because I don’t like how much time that whole process takes. I realize that my days are so busy that I don’t take the time to eat as I should so I end up binging later in the day and eating anything I can get my hands on. I am trying to get better at this, so I have meal prepped bison, rice and sweet peppers for my lunch.

2:00 pm:

I hold my weekly meeting with the staff to review our weekly goals. Once the meeting is completed I will have 1 on 1 meetings with my staff as needed. I try to keep the first few hours I am at the office open for anyone that needs my help or needs to speak with me. I then go into a do not disturb mode and focus only on work I need to be doing.

6:30 pm:

Cook dinner for my boys and spend time with them. Mondays we do tacos. We would do “taco tuesday” but my youngest son Jayden is with his dad Tuesday nights, so we have made it “taco Monday”! After dinner we watch a show. We are currently watching Schitt’s Creek on Netflix.

8:00 pm:

Work on Life with Jeezy. I review footage I recorded throughout the day and learn how to use Final Cut Pro. My goal is to release weekly vlogs starting in July. I am taking the time now to just get used to talking out loud to a camera. I am slowly getting more used to it and learning how to edit so stay tuned!

9:00 pm:

Begin my nighttime routine. This includes my evening skin care routine which you can read about here.

I drink a cup of tea to help me sleep. Tonight I am using a cup my best friend got me as a gift which I think is super cute! I review what I have going on the next day and get my workout clothes laid out. I really feel that my mornings begin the night before with me prepping my day before I go to sleep.

10:00 pm:

Bed! I try to be in bed no later than 10:00. I am an early bird, not a night owl. I prefer early mornings over late nights. My mom sent me the picture below and it’s so me!
